A Learnership is one of the statutory methods of acquiring a SETA accredited technical qualification supported by industry.  This system is similar to an apprenticeship  where practical training and workplace experience leads to a Red-seal artisan qualification.  The difference is however that it is further supplemented with Fundamental subjects related to life skills as well as additional Elective subjects to add valure to the qualification.  These class- room based training are done on our SETA accredited sites. 

A Learnership is a formal contract where the host employer is the custodian of the Learnership (responsible to secure a training  provider as well as to pay a stipend to the Learner as stipulated in the learner's contract).

Tshwane South College serves as the  training provider in this tri-partheid agreement and is responsible for the theoretical and specialised practical training components of the qualification.  all training is done to satisfy the requiremnt of the relevant SETA's and is audited periodically to check the quality of the training.

Please note that Tshwane South College is not registered as an employer and therefore does not recruit learners.  Prospective applicants must constantly scan the local newspapers for advertisements in this regard.  Although there are numerous learnerships in the motor industry, supported by Merseta, it is deemed a scarce skill and is therefore in high demand.
